Ascend Healthcare Brings in Child Psychiatrist Dr. Lisa Acosta
Los Angeles, CA, April 2 – Ascend Healthcare, a behavioral healthcare provider specializint in treatment for adolescents struggling with substance abuse and mental health disorders, has added a new psychiatrist to their team. They are delighted to announce that Dr. Lisa Acosta is now a full-time team member at Canyons, Empress, and Magnolia — Ascend Healthcare’s three residential facilities in Southern California.
“I believe in a very collaborative approach when it comes to the treatment of our young clients,” says Dr. Acosta. “I work with an entire team of professionals to develop the most personalized treatment plans possible where we opt for a comprehensive physical, mental, and emotional strategy that treats the whole person.”
Dr. Acosta, a double-boarded specialist in both Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, received her BA in Psychology from Harvard University. She went on to earn her Doctorate at Rush University’s medical school before returning to California to complete her Psychiatry Residency at Harbor-UCLA, as well as a Child & Adolescent Fellowship at Cedars Sinai. Throughout her career serving the moderate to severely mentally ill population, Dr. Acosta has found that she most enjoys working with adolescents in a residential setting due to the dramatic progress they make in such a short period of time.
“Lisa is an amazing addition to the Ascend Team because she brings with her nearly a decade of experience working with adolescents,” says Effie Goldberg, managing director at Ascend Healthcare. “She connects with clients and their families on a cerebral and emotional level, allowing her to address all their concerns during their time with us.”
