Blue Ridge Therapeutic Wilderness Family Program Welcomes Liz Lucarelli, LCMHC
Blue Ridge Therapeutic Wilderness is honored to welcome Liz Lucarelli, MS, NCC, LCMHCS, RPT-S, BCC back as a family therapist. Liz joins the family team with a great understanding of wilderness therapy, having started her career at Blue Ridge as a field instructor nearly two decades ago and later serving as a primary therapist as well. As a Blue Ridge Family Therapist, Liz will work with families of adolescent students.
In addition to serving as a therapist for over a decade, Liz also has experience serving programs as a Clinical Program Director and Developer. Liz is a Clinical Mental Health Counselor, Nationally Certified Counselor, Registered Play Therapy Supervisor, and Board Certified Coach. As a coach, Liz brings play, art, drama, and other creative modalities into her work with families.
“You’ll discover that I’m an honest, yet compassionate and easy-going coach,” says Liz. “I’m genuine, playful, and a real human being doing the same work that our students and families are. I try to create a space where families can talk about anything! The successes, challenges, and the things they might feel ’embarrassed, ashamed, or bad’ for talking about.”
Liz shares that her goal is to support families in using their time at Blue Ridge as a chance to shift into new patterns, learn new ways of communicating and managing emotions, and reconnect with their strengths, wisdom, and resiliency. Her hope is for families to walk away from their wilderness experience feeling more aware, empowered, and hopeful for the future.
Liz joined the Blue Ridge team earlier this summer and has already begun working with families. To learn more about Liz or family programming at Blue Ridge, visit blueridgewilderness.com or send an email to email@example.com.
