Blue Ridge Therapeutic Wilderness Welcomes Girls’ Primary Therapist, Regan Adair

Blue Ridge Therapeutic Wilderness, a North Georgia-based wilderness therapy program for adolescents 13-18 and young adults 18-29, announces new primary girls’ therapist Regan Adair to the clinical team. Regan is an experienced therapist who joins the Blue Ridge team after working in wilderness therapy for the last seven years. She has gained experience in a multitude of roles spanning from Field Instructor, Medical and Psychiatric Coordinator to Associate Therapist facilitating family work as well as working with students in the field. As a clinician, she has worked with adolescents and young adults of all genders.
The adolescent girls Regan works with face common core issues associated with relational hurt, insecurity, past trauma, and fear of failure and judgment. Regan’s work with students in the field is informed by psychodynamic training and rooted in a therapeutic approach that is relational, attachment-oriented, and trauma-informed. Regan incorporates elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Somatic Experiencing in her therapeutic work. She also has experience working with the Twelve Step Model.
Regan earned her Master of Clinical Social Work from Smith College School for Social Work. Her clinical practice stems from the belief that all people have an immense capacity for growth and healing. With a strengths-based approach, Regan supports her clients as they discover the skills necessary to find alignment with their values while also exploring their family systems and the roots of their present difficulties.
Regan’s dog, Juni, loves to join her for adventures in hiking, paddle boarding, and exploring new places, and Juni is often by her side working with clients as a therapy dog.
Please join Blue Ridge Therapeutic Wilderness in welcoming Regan Adair aboard the clinical team.
