Lake Tahoe Prep is a coeducational boarding school for students in grades 9-12 located in Olympic Valley, California. With a student body of 70 and student to teacher ratio of 7:1, we lead a program built upon personalized attention. Our students benefit from our robust curriculum approved by the University of California, small class size, individualized learning, and access to yearlong outdoor sports. Our community, though small in size, also offers access to global perspectives, as our student body represents 13 countries. A learning center, with certified special education teachers, offers support to students with learning differences or who are struggling in one or more of their classes. Licensed clinicians offer individual, group, and family therapy when needed and/or appropriate.
In 2020, we marked the 42 year anniversary of our school with a name change to Lake Tahoe Preparatory School. This change provides our prospective students a greater understanding of the location of our school, and reflects our growth and development over the last four decades. Our new name also signifies our role in preparing our students to be ready to learn, ready to launch, and ready to lead as they pursue their education now and in the future.
