Brittany Tolar joins EDGE Learning & Wellness as Program Director

EDGE Learning & Wellness, a Chicago-based Transitional Living Community for young adult students attending college, vocational programs, certificate programs, and other post-secondary solutions, is excited to announce that Brittany Tolar, LCSW has joined their team. Under the guidance of Dr. David Ventrelle, Brittany is the new Program Director at EDGE Learning and Wellness. Brittany comes to EDGE following a five-year tenure working with emerging adults at Thresholds in Chicago.
Brittany received a degree in Applied Psychology from the University of Illinois at Chicago and her Master of Social Work from the University of Chicago.
Through her leadership, Brittany will be able to use her skills in evidence-based, body-centered, and relational approaches to creatively guide the students at EDGE towards realizing their goals. “I look forward to bringing my skill set in driving innovation and creativity in order to build upon existing student and staff strengths to provide a more well-rounded, holistic approach to wellness. One of my goals is to normalize some of the everyday struggles our students may have. Collaboration and communication is incredibly important to me and so I look forward to engaging all the key players in students’ lives.”
Brittany has already hit the ground running. Brittany has initiated a “Town Hall” meeting with the students at EDGE where they have identified the need for both a mindfulness group and a gender identity group for students to explore what this means to them in a safe environment.
EDGE Learning and Wellness continues to build a team that is optimized to provide young adult clients and their families a framework of highly individualized, responsive support in a warm, encouraging community environment
