Change of Seasons at Boulder Creek Academy

Boulder Creek Academy, a therapeutic boarding school serving ages 13 through 18, weaves coeducational, fully-accredited academics into a relationship-based therapy program and welcomes struggling students. Boulder Creek is excited to share about upcoming events as the seasons change.
With the leaves falling and the temperatures beginning to drop, Boulder Creek Academy is putting away the mountain bikes, the Frisbee golf and getting ready for the snow season ahead.
Jeff Miller, Dean of Students, is already making the plans to be a part of the Schweitzer Mountain ski school activities. As the season begins to take shape, the upcoming goal is to schedule each caseload group, complete with the therapist, teachers and support staff, a lesson, and opportunity to try out the mountain. “Many of our students have never skied/boarded before. This opportunity gives the student a chance to try new things, to work together and to have the support on that first day to make it a successful experience. When students are on the mountain they learn to recognize limits, physically and emotionally. It’s a great opportunity for them to grow, and practice the skills they are learning at school.”
Once the initial visit and lesson has taken place, the ski season is set in motion, and BCA attends every Friday throughout the winter and spring.
As this season approaches, it comes with the excitement of the holidays and the upcoming graduation. Seasons change, students come and go, and opportunities abound.
