Cherokee Creek Boys School is seeking a Clinical Director to manage our Clinical Services Department and direct the clinical delivery of both student and family programs. Cherokee Creek is a therapeutic boarding school for boys ages 10-16. We have supported boys and their families for over 20 years and are known for our rich family programming and having a strong mission & values that permeates throughout our entire program. Cherokee Creek Boys School is seeking an experienced dynamic team player to provide guidance and therapy for boys, ages 10-15, at our therapeutic boarding school in Westminster SC.

A successful candidate will join a vital team of professionals who are dedicated to helping boys who are struggling emotionally academically and or socially to discover what is real and true about themselves and the world around them. Our campus provides a warm caring family environment for young boys to feel safe and nurtured.

Therapists report directly to our Clinical Director and are part of a therapeutic team that assures the growth and healing of our students.

This position prefers a person with experience working at a therapeutic program. They must have the emotional and physical safety of our students as their primary concern at all times. Our successful candidate must have an unconditional positive regard for children and other members of the team; the ability to address behavior issues in a way that promotes learning, personal success and mutual respect; and strong healthy personal boundaries.

RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to: working individually and in groups with the students; leading family therapy with students and their families; leading conflict resolution and de-escalating emotionally charged situations; communicating compassionately and effectively with parents; serving as a positive PR representative for the school and its mission.



  • MA / MS in counseling social work psychology education or related field
  • Licensed Counselor or Social Worker
  • Preferred experience/understanding of residential / wilderness therapy setting
  • CPI, First Aid, & CPR training is provided
  • Compensation package includes professional liability insurance and continuing education
  • Candidate will need to be or become licensed in the State of South Carolina.
