Pacific Quest (PQ) is thrilled to announce the return of Dr. Brian Konik to its team for the upcoming summer program. Dr. Konik has been a vital part of PQ’s clinical team for the past ten years, bringing his extensive experience as a clinical psychologist in private practice and integrative teams at John Hopkins and the Kennedy Kreeger Institute.

Dr. Konik has been running a specialized summer program under the PQ umbrella for the past few years, providing a unique and immersive experience for a select group of 10 teens nationwide. His expertise in anxiety-based disorders and high-functioning neurodivergent profiles has allowed him to fine-tune each moment of this summer to address a range of therapeutic needs.

“I was immediately drawn to the immersive and profoundly integrative approach at PQ,” said Dr. Konik. “As a clinician, I could pull all the levers I could never access in my experience in private practice and outpatient settings.”

Dr. Konik has also served as the Director of Counseling at the Frederick Gunn School, a private traditional boarding school in Connecticut, where he lives with his wife and four boys. This experience has helped him prepare kids for the transition to mainstream learning environments, which many of his students have successfully made after attending the PQ summer program.

“Given the nature of the students that join this program, their overall trajectory is very different than most students who join PQ during the regular school year,” said Dr. Konik. “Most alumni started the new school year in traditional mainstream learning environments last summer.”

This summer, Dr. Konik and his team will have their own fantastic home as a base of operations. They will be venturing on specialized outings and raising animals, all without the litany of COVID-related hurdles they faced in the past few summers.
