Elements Announces Sabrina Hardy, Head of Diversity

Elements Wilderness and Elements Traverse are proud to announce that Sabrina Hardy, Founder, and Chair of Elements’ Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, will now be assuming the role of Head of Diversity.
During her more than four-year tenure as a Field Mentor, Sabrina saw the need to better support clients, staff, and the Elements Community to hold space for conversations around racism, homophobia, and any array of “-ism”. In 2018 Sabrina used her Advanced Lead development project as a launching pad to form Elements’ DEI Committee, bringing together representatives from different areas of both programs to focus on the growth and education of the program, and the creation of a more intentional treatment process. She has since taken the initiative to pursue higher education and is now a Certified Professional Diversity Coach through the Coach Diversity Institute.
“Over the past decade it has become more and more apparent that the therapeutic treatment community needs a more sophisticated approach to supporting the diverse needs of our clients, regardless of who they are and how they identify,” said Karen Scrafford, Program Director and co-owner of the Elements Programs. “We are so grateful to Sabrina for helping us through this humbling process of confronting our own blind spots and reevaluating our approach to treatment itself.”
Sabrina has been instrumental in conducting and facilitating both internal and external training and growth opportunities for Elements, most recently facilitating a 3-day on-site training of all staff in conjunction with the Field Therapy Group. Now, as Elements’ first-ever Head of Diversity, Sabrina is focused on the ongoing training and process improvements in order to help Elements achieve the Elements DEI committee’s mission.
