Foundations Asheville Community Involvement and Volunteering

Foundations Asheville, a transitional living community dedicated to empowering individuals through education, skill growth, and job readiness, continues to forge a strong identity centered around volunteering and community engagement. Foundations fosters partnerships with local and renowned organizations such as Bounty and Soul, Habitat for Humanity, Root Cause Farms, and Greenworks. Through these partnerships, students encounter opportunities to impact the lives of others in the community positively. Young adults are the nation’s future leaders and change-makers; their contributions inspire others and set a positive example for future generations, ensuring more connected and resourceful communities.
Volunteering plays a crucial role in Foundations Asheville’s approach to job readiness. By engaging in real-world volunteering experiences, students develop a strong work ethic, resilience, and essential job readiness skills.
Tayler Blaker, M.A., ED Experiential Learning Coordinator at Foundations Asheville, explains, “When focusing on job readiness, Foundations empowers individuals by providing them with the necessary tools and support to enhance their employability. These tools include but are not limited to honoring commitments, time management skills, and working with a team.”
These transferable skills are highly sought after by employers and educational institutions, providing graduates with a competitive advantage in the job market and their academic pursuits.
By actively participating in volunteer activities and engaging with their communities, they gain invaluable skills and experiences while profoundly impacting the world around them. Volunteering also allows these young adults to explore their interests, passions, and potential career paths while boosting their self-confidence and self-esteem. Through giving their time and skills to support others, students experience a sense of fulfillment and purpose.
Blaker shares, “Through these various initiatives, Foundations Asheville proudly showcases our identity as a company that values job readiness, commitment, and making a positive difference in the lives of others in our community.”
Foundations Asheville continues to champion its commitment to community engagement and will strive to provide students with even more opportunities to contribute positively to society.
