Fulshear Now Able to Bill On-Assignment with Insurance
Fulshear Treatment to Transition is now able to bill on assignment with most major insurance companies for out-of-network benefits. Having primarily been a self-pay program over the years, the team has worked diligently to provide support to families by submitting to their insurance companies during their stay, in hopes of reimbursement for them. With this change, the team is now able to request pre-authorizations for out-of-network benefits for each client enrolling at Fulshear, and to do so before their admission.
It is unlikely that a typical average stay at Fulshear will be fully covered, but with the different levels of care offered at Fulshear, they can bill as a residential (RTC) level of care for the Ranch portion of the program, as well as shifting to partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) levels of care once the client is at the Apartments portion of the program. If insurance authorizes any time for PHP or IOP, families will separately be responsible for a room & board fee. This is all based on what insurance deems as medically necessary for each client. If insurance stops covering a level of care sooner than the Fulshear treatment team recommends, the family will be able to switch to private pay until the client is ready to move to the apartments. For those that insurance does not approve coverage for, families will be able to self-pay.
Fulshear is grateful to be able to provide and expand access to its unique and necessary treatment program by utilizing this aspect of insurance coverage on assignment.
