Fulshear’s Leadership Grows From Within

April of 2023 has been an exciting month of change for Fulshear Treatment to Transition. One thing that remains constant is Fulshear will continue to be run by passionate and experienced leaders. While Fulshear is sad to see her go, Nikki Garza, LCSW, has decided to step down from her role as Executive Director after nine years and focus on her private practice, thus spending more time with her incredible family.
Stepping into the Executive Director role is Allyson Smith, who has been Fulshear’s Program Director for ten years. Allyson also worked at a sister program for six years prior and she has a passion for holistic treatment for young adult women. Most importantly, she has incredible ideas for continuing to innovate the Fulshear program, its strong values systems, and the growth of its people.
Smith says, “I am excited to lead a powerful team of mental health professionals who are passionate, caring, and talented. I love our attachment model and the experiences of attuned relationships that we provide women and their families. I’m excited to help our clients find healing, health, and wellness in all areas of life.”
“I’m excited for the next chapter of Fulshear,” says Nikki Garza. “Allyson has been part of all of the ups and downs over the last nine years with me, my constant support, and my right hand. She is going to be an amazing leader for Fulshear, and I can’t wait to witness all the greatness to come for the program.”
Promoted to Allyson’s previous role of Program Director will be Sarah Kelley, who has been an instrumental part of Fulshear for the last six years, starting off as a residential mentor and working her way up to Residential and Life Skills Director at the Transition part of the program. Regarding her new role, Kelley says, “I’m honored and excited to be a part of an organization that is a force for good in the world! My hope for every client we serve is that they have the experiences they need to heal and will launch into their life beyond Fulshear with confidence and optimism for the future.”
Fulshear has become a leader in young adult treatment due to its expertise in attachment and trauma. The plan is for Fulshear to continue to be the program most well-known for its attachment work with its Integrated Attachment Model. It will be exciting to see the continued growth of the program, and how Fulshear will, in turn, be able to help more young adult women.
