‘Helping Boys Thrive In a Post-Covid World’ symposium topic with Dr. Michael Gurian

At the end of August, The Forge School hosted its second quarterly symposium with NY Times best-selling author Dr. Michael Gurian, where the topic of discussion was ‘Helping Boys Thrive In a Post-Covid World.‘ The event took place right in a beautiful venue right on the Hiwassee River and consisted of a three-hour educational talk by Dr. Gurian, lunch for all, and a Q&A Panel with Dr. Gurian and The Forge School leadership team. The guest list consisted of community partners, mental health partners, and parents/ family members of students who are currently enrolled at The Forge School.
Dr. Gurian is considered to be one of the nation’s leading gender experts with research that spans decades and includes multi-generational, multi-national, and multi-cultural conducted studies. His educational lecture offered SPECT scans as well as plenty of resources for research-based information and evidence. Additionally, ‘Helping Boys Thrive in a Post-Covid World’ was approved by the National Association of Social Workers – Tennessee Chapter (Provider Number: NASWTN 2021-0099) for up to 4.0 continuing education units which were given to all of the event’s attendees.
The Forge School’s focus is to create Maverick joy and heal families. With specialization in the neurobiological and emotional needs of teen boys, programming partnerships with Dr. Michael Gurian are an integral part of their primary goal.
