blueFire PulsaR, an innovative and comprehensive wilderness and adventure-based program for young adults aged 18 to 28, has named Jake Tucker, MA, LCPC, as their Clinical Director. Jake has been working as a Primary Therapist at blueFire for 2 years with the PulsaR young adults group.
Jake is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Counseling. He has worked with children, adolescents, young adults, and their families for the last 15 years. Jake is a registered Supervisor with the state of Idaho and enjoys providing support and supervision to all clinicians seeking clinical licensure as well as LPC or LCPC degrees. Jake believes that building relationships is extremely important when working with clients and for that reason he approaches everything from a relational person-centered perspective, with an emphasis on emotional awareness and connection.
Jake practices EMDR and Brainspotting and emphasizes mindfulness for clients who have experienced trauma or related issues. Additionally, he has pursued advanced training in attachment issues, Emotion-Focused Therapy for couples and families, the Community Resiliency Model from the Trauma Resource Institute, and The Anatomy of Peace with the Arbinger Institute.
The PulsaR program is a multi-faceted approach in the wilderness that gives young adults the chance to build important life skills and work towards achieving goals. Away from the temptations of technology and negative influences back home, blueFire clients have the opportunity to look inwards and focus on building the skills that will lead to success back home.
