JET ED CONSULTING Adds New Consultant to Growing Practice

Jennifer Taylor, President of JET ED Consulting, is over the moon with enthusiasm for the newest consultant to join the JET ED Team, Louise Kelso. “Our consulting practice of moms who have had to place their children or young adults into residential environments including wilderness, therapeutic schools, learning differences boarding schools and traditional boarding schools as well as young adult transition programs is richer because of Louise – she has a passion for helping kids with therapeutic and learning differences.” She says, “it is essential that a school or program is the right match for a child’s skills and needs for their personal growth.”
Louise will be a Senior Consultant in the Practice. She works with teenagers and young adults who have a variety of neurocognitive differences, social-emotional challenges, and dual diagnosis substance abuse with mental health. Louise also has experience with more traditional boarding schools and skillfully guides families to different stages of treatment or academic needs.
Louise struggled with dyslexia when learning differences were poorly understood. She experienced the persistent sense of systemic neglect and failure that can follow students who learn differently and she knows first-hand the anxiety of this challenge. After some time in her public high school, Louise attended boarding school for the final 2 years of high school, marking a profound improvement to her academic and emotional health.
When her children began to show their own learning challenges and differences, Louise advocated for the highest quality education and social-emotional support they needed. As a parent, Louise has experience with wilderness therapy, therapeutic boarding schools, and boarding schools. Because of an individualized approach, her children have grown and flourished.
At JET ED Consulting, Louise brings this incredible personal and professional experience to support other families in finding schools and programs. In a multi-modal, complex, and often intimidating process, Louise brings her warmth, expertise, and empathetic guidance to her practice.
When not helping families, Louise can be seen acing an opponent on the Pickle Ball court or taking long hikes in the Bay Area of San Francisco. She is the proud mother of three children.
Louise has a BA in Business Administration from the University of San Francisco and an MBA in Sustainable Enterprise from Dominican University of California.
