New Focus Academy is Proud to Announce Joshua De Weerd as their New Academic Director

New Focus Academy, a therapeutic residential program and a specialized school for adolescent boys ages 12-18, is excited to announce the addition of Joshua De Weerd as their new Academic Director.
Joshua has 19 years of experience as an educator and administrator for both public and private schools. He has led schools in the areas of fiscal management, staff development and evaluation, program initiative implementation, team-building, and the creation of a safe and secure school environment.
“I am really looking forward to working with teachers and staff at New Focus Academy, to help align what is in the best interest of the kids and team as a whole,” says De Weerd. “From my experience, as long as we empower teachers to support our students and keep students’ interest as our main priority, we can’t go wrong.”
In his past positions, Joshua has been instrumental in school turnaround techniques and successful alternative school settings. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education and a graduate degree in Education Administration.
New Focus Academy couldn’t be happier to have Joshua on board. They look forward to sharing more about the new developments coming to their academic programming in the near future.
