A Life-Changing Partnership: Alumni Parent Shares How Blue Ridge and Sky’s the Limit Fund Made Healing Possible

Published: March 31, 2025

Blue Ridge Therapeutic Wilderness, a leading wilderness therapy program for adolescents and young adults (ages 12-29), provides transformative experiences for students and their families. Located in the Chattahoochee and Nantahala National Forests, Blue Ridge and its program for emerging adults, Emerald Arrow, equips students and families with the tools to foster lasting personal growth and meaningful connections.

For many families, however, the cost of wilderness therapy presents a significant barrier. In response, Blue Ridge partnered with Sky’s the Limit Fund (STLF), a 501(c)(3) non-profit, to make treatment more accessible. Through this collaboration, Blue Ridge now matches every grant awarded by STLF with an equivalent tuition reduction, ensuring more families in crisis receive the support they need.

A Parent’s Perspective: The Impact of STLF and Blue Ridge

Susan R., an alumni parent and recipient of STLF assistance, shares how the partnership helped her family during a critical time:

"When enrolling my child, I was in the midst of chaos—just trying to survive. When I connected with Sky’s the Limit Fund, they were incredibly kind and supportive, offering valuable resources. The financial assistance was life-changing, and the fact that Blue Ridge matched it made all the difference. Beyond tuition support, they provided free parent coaching for me, coaching for my child, and additional financial help for aftercare. I am deeply grateful."

Reflecting on the journey, Susan highlights the profound changes in her family’s dynamic:

"We are now communicating in a more meaningful, effective, and attuned way. This experience has been invaluable. I truly believe every family could benefit from it… and I’m a therapist!"
