Aerie Healthcare, located in downtown Concord, NH, is in close proximity to many traditional New England private day and boarding schools. The opening of Aerie day treatment programs in February 2024 represents a potential solution and valuable resource for students, families, schools, and referral sources seeking creative mental health interventions. To access the Aerie PHP & IOP, many families have elected to relocate temporarily for 3 to 4 weeks so their children can attend Aerie.
Aerie’s mental health PHP & IOP programs are suitable for students who are struggling in their current school environments with challenges including attendance, anxiety, depression, self-harming behaviors, or suicidal intensity. These students often need more support than weekly outpatient therapy and less intensive interventions than inpatient or residential treatment. Schools also need mental health options when considering how to best support their students who are not meeting school expectations and standards.
To address the need for non-residential interventions, Aerie Healthcare’s team of licensed clinicians, medical professionals, and Learning Specialist collaborates with families, schools, and referral sources to:
- Offer clinically sound short-term treatment plans to address presenting issues
- Identify actions needed to either return to the current school or pursue other options
- Provide clients time and support to work on school assignments and develop learning strategies and skills
- Create well-scaffolded and comprehensive transition plans
- Communicate with outside team members to make treatment as effective and efficient as possible
