ALT Fair: Coming to MA in Spring 2026

After successful events in California, New York, and Illinois, the Alternative to College (ALT) Fair is heading back to the East Coast this spring! The Spring 2025 ALT Fair will take place on May 8–9, 2025, at the Brookline Teen Center in Brookline, Massachusetts, bringing together professionals, families, and young people to explore post-secondary options beyond the traditional college path. The ALT Fair is a one-of-a-kind event that connects attendees with gap year programs, apprenticeships, therapeutic and transition programs, and other innovative post-secondary opportunities. Applications for vendor and program participation open November 17, 2024. This year’s application process has been redesigned to feature a broader diversity of opportunities in response to feedback from prior attendees who valued a more inclusive mix of programs and perspectives. The two-day event will include:
  • Thursday, May 8 – Professional Networking Day: A dedicated day for consultants, educators, and program representatives to connect and collaborate.
  • Friday, May 9 – ALT Fair for Families & Students: A showcase of meaningful post-secondary pathways designed to inspire and inform.
“The ALT Fair was created to open doors—to show families and professionals that there are countless ways for young people to learn, grow, and thrive after high school,” said Shayna Abraham, M.A., founder of Prepare To Bloom and organizer of the ALT Fair. “This year’s new structure allows us to highlight an even wider range of programs that meet the needs of today’s diverse learners.” For more information or to apply, visit www.preparetobloom.com/alt-fair.   About the Organizers: Prepare To Bloom is a Walnut Creek–based therapeutic consulting firm that guides families nationwide through educational and mental‑health transitions.
