Key Components of The Oaks Program include:
- Comprehensive Therapeutic Modalities: The program incorporates evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), and Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT). Additionally, experiential modalities like Equine Therapy, Ecopsychology, Animal-Assisted Therapy (AAT), Art & Music, Yoga & Meditation, and Horticulture are utilized to enrich the therapeutic experience.
- Specialized Treatment Approach: The Oaks Program integrates Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) therapy as a central component of its treatment approach. Through personalized ERP sessions, community outings, and readiness assessments, adolescents receive effective exposure therapy within a structured environment conducive to healing.
- Holistic Family-Centered Care: Recognizing the importance of family support, The Oaks Program offers specialized groups and sessions aimed at educating and empowering parents and caregivers to support adolescents struggling with OCD effectively. Family-centered care is prioritized through Parent Skills Groups, OCD Education and Skills Groups, and other tailored sessions designed to foster understanding and resilience within the family system.
- Medication Management: In addition to therapeutic interventions, The Oaks Program provides comprehensive medication management overseen by qualified healthcare professionals. Adolescents benefit from weekly medication management sessions with psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners, ensuring safe and effective medication administration tailored to individual genetic makeup.
- Academic Support: Education is an integral component of The Oaks Program, with three hours of schooling provided every weekday. Academic coaches collaborate with families to determine the most suitable educational path for each adolescent, offering options such as home-school collaboration and enrollment in accredited online learning programs.
