Beach Cities Gateway Launches Virtual Parent Support Group for Families of Neurodivergent Adults

Beach Cities Gateway is launching a new Virtual Parent Support Group beginning Wednesday, July 8, to provide encouragement, connection, and practical support for parents and caregivers of neurodivergent adults. As adult children move into new stages of independence, many families find themselves navigating unfamiliar challenges. Questions around employment, relationships, daily living, and long-term support can leave parents feeling overwhelmed and alone. The new support group was created to offer a welcoming space where caregivers can connect with others who understand the journey and share experiences in a supportive, judgment-free environment.

"Parents often tell us they feel like they're figuring things out one step at a time, and that can feel incredibly isolating," said Debbie Murad, LCSW, Founder and CEO of Beach Cities Gateway. "We created this group to remind families they don't have to navigate this season alone. Our hope is that every participant leaves feeling heard, supported, and connected to a community that truly understands."

The group will be led by Alyson Lebow, MS, LP, PsyD, and Debbie Murad, LCSW, who bring both professional expertise and personal experience as parents. Sessions will be held virtually every other Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:15 p.m., beginning July 8, with the next meeting scheduled for July 22.

Registration is currently open for the first session. Families interested in participating are encouraged to register before the July 9th start date.
