Black Pines Reports Strong Student Progress, Spring Programming Expansion, and Upcoming Enrollment Opportunities
Black Pines, a transitional living program in Cottonwood Heights, UT, for young men ages 18–25, reports continued student progress as participants engage in employment, skill-building, and personal development. With the arrival of spring, the program has expanded its outdoor and experiential offerings, with students actively participating in hiking, mountain biking, and skill-based disciplines such as kung fu and jujutsu. These activities are integrated into the program’s structure to promote confidence, discipline, and real-world growth as students continue to explore their interests and build independence.
Black Pines also highlighted the success of a recent graduate who, after living independently, is now transitioning into his next chapter by returning home and stepping into a mentorship role at a summer camp. This progression reflects the program’s focus on sustainable independence and long-term growth beyond the structured environment.
“Your word is everything,” said Kolby Kimball, Co-Founder and Lead Life Coach at Black Pines. “We are teaching these young men that showing up and following through on their commitments is the foundation of trust, discipline, and ultimately independence.”
Looking ahead, Black Pines is preparing to welcome new students in June as it continues to grow its community of participants committed to meaningful change. The program remains focused on providing a structured, mentorship-driven environment that bridges the gap between dependence and independent adulthood, emphasizing accountability, consistency, and forward progress.
