Bridge House is proud to spotlight its experienced, full-time medical team, whose collaborative approach plays a vital role in delivering the comprehensive psychiatric assessments and individualized treatment that distinguish the program. By integrating medical expertise with a whole-person philosophy, Bridge House provides residents with thoughtful, evidence-based care in a supportive residential environment.
At the center of the medical team is Medical Director Dr. Kiera Schlansky, MD, a board-certified psychiatrist with specialized training in adult, child, and adolescent psychiatry. After graduating from Vanderbilt University and completing her adult psychiatry residency in 2017, Dr. Schlansky completed a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry in 2019, with an emphasis on development and family dynamics.
Dr. Schlansky is drawn to the complexity of cases that benefit from a multidisciplinary approach, making residential treatment the ideal setting for her practice. She believes Bridge House stands apart by delivering evidence-based psychiatric care in a welcoming, non-institutional environment while allowing clinicians the time needed to develop accurate diagnoses.
Bridge House's advantages include "having the luxury of time to consider diagnoses over a longitudinal stretch rather than in the traditional medical model where you have to formulate a diagnosis in forty-five minutes," said Dr. Schlansky, "and being able to provide answers that finally make sense to people."
Supporting the psychiatric program is Psychiatric Physician Assistant Julie Himstedt, who has practiced as a Physician Assistant since 2008 and has specialized in mental health since 2019. Drawing on previous experience in primary care, family practice, and urgent care, Julie joined Bridge House in 2020 and has become an integral member of the clinical team.
Julie credits the program's strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration as some of the most rewarding aspects of her work. She also values Bridge House's commitment to delivering high-quality psychiatric care outside of a traditional institutional setting.
"There is nothing as meaningful as seeing residents transform over the course of three months—from feeling hopeless to believing they have a future because of the support and clarity they receive through the program," said Himstedt.
The medical leadership team is further strengthened by Director of Nursing Jaremy Stucki, whose career in behavioral healthcare began in 2010 as a psychiatric technician before he earned his nursing degree. With experience caring for patients across inpatient psychiatric settings and serving in residential leadership since 2019, Jaremy joined Bridge House in 2025.
As Director of Nursing, Jaremy oversees a team of five nurses and two certified nursing assistants. He values the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with residents through the program's intimate setting and believes one of Bridge House's greatest strengths is its flexibility in tailoring care to each individual's needs.
Rather than relying on rigid protocols, Bridge House empowers its clinical and medical teams to work collaboratively and thoughtfully, creating highly personalized treatment plans that reflect each resident's unique circumstances.
"Our ability to work in the gray area allows us to provide individualized care instead of a one-size-fits-all approach dictated by arbitrary policies and procedures," said Stucki.
Bridge House believes that an experienced, collaborative medical team is fundamental to its mission of serving as the premier residential program focused on comprehensive psychiatric assessment and diagnosis for adults. Through compassionate expertise, clinical collaboration, and individualized care, the medical team helps residents gain greater clarity, understanding, and a path toward lasting wellness.
