Educational Resources Unlimited (ERU) is proud to share its continued dedication to supporting mental health professionals and families through uniquely collaborative programs and services. On November 22, 2024, ERU co-sponsored The Inner World of the Traumatized Adolescent with TPN.health and Family First Adolescent Services (FL). This complimentary in-person workshop offered three clinical continuing education hours, equipping professionals with tools to address complex trauma in adolescents using insights from attachment theory, interpersonal neurobiology, and developmental affective neuroscience. Attendees left inspired to apply new strategies in their practice.
Additionally, ERU partnered with The Oxford Academy (CT) and Summit Achievement (ME) on October 25, 2024, to present Continuing Education for Mental Health Professionals, featuring two one-hour sessions. The first, Ethical Decision Making in Choosing Private-Pay Treatment, provided guidance for evaluating residential programs, addressing ethical challenges, and navigating public perceptions of private-pay models. The second, The Use of Nature in Therapeutic Practice, explored the powerful role of nature in therapeutic work, from immersive backpacking experiences to integrating outdoor elements into individual sessions. Both events offered attendees actionable insights and the opportunity to network with peers.
Beyond professional development, ERU is expanding its impact with tailored recovery and family coaching services led by Nick Lodato, a seasoned therapist specializing in addiction recovery and family systems. Nick’s services provide a compassionate, judgment-free space where individuals and families can address challenges such as conflict, substance use, and relational breakdowns. Using evidence-based approaches like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and narrative therapy, Nick helps clients uncover the root causes of issues and develop pathways toward lasting healing and growth. His coaching is designed to meet clients exactly where they are, offering practical tools for rebuilding trust, improving communication, and fostering resilience within family systems.
“At ERU, we are committed to creating meaningful opportunities for professionals to grow and families to thrive,” said founder Lauren Seltzer. “By co-sponsoring dynamic continuing education events and expanding our recovery and family coaching services, we aim to empower individuals and families with the tools to overcome challenges and build stronger connections.”
