Real-Life Independence: How Black Pines is Transforming Young Men’s Lives

Black Pines Announces February Graduation, New Student Growth, and Program Expansion Opportunities

Black Pines, a transitional living program serving young men ages 18–25, announces the graduation of one student at the end of February, marking another milestone in its mission to support real-life transitions into independence. The program, designed for young men navigating direction, motivation, and life skill development, continues to focus on employment, driver’s licenses, and structured personal growth through its six-pillar framework. Over the past two months, Black Pines has also welcomed two new students who are actively engaging in employment placement and foundational independence goals.

As part of its continued growth, Black Pines recently added a new staff member to strengthen mentorship, accountability, and daily structure within the home. The program maintains a small, high-touch model to ensure individualized attention and meaningful progress. “Consistency compounds,” said John Karren of Black Pines. “Small disciplines practiced daily turn into real independence over time. We are not chasing quick wins. We are building durable habits that last.”

Beginning in March, Black Pines will have two open rooms available for new participants. The program remains focused on helping young men eliminate downtime, develop responsibility, and take measurable steps toward independent living through mentorship, life skills training, community engagement, and forward-focused accountability. Families, consultants, and referral partners are encouraged to reach out to learn more about upcoming availability.
