An Inspiring Conversation with Congresswoman Sarah McBride
In April, the Gateway students and parents had the unique opportunity to engage in a virtual conversation with Congresswoman Sarah McBride via Zoom. This special event provided a behind-the-scenes look into a member of Congress's life, responsibilities, and daily work.
Congresswoman McBride was incredibly generous with her time and insight. She offered a thoughtful and honest perspective on what it means to serve in public office, from advocating for constituents to working on national legislation. Her deep knowledge and clear passion for public service were truly inspiring to all who attended.
Her connection with the Gateway students made the experience especially meaningful. She listened attentively, answered their questions with care, and encouraged them to stay curious, engaged, and hopeful about the future. From discussing policy issues to sharing personal stories about her path to leadership, Congresswoman McBride left a lasting impression on everyone in the (virtual) room.
The Gateway team is grateful for the opportunity to host such a powerful and empowering conversation. Events like these help broaden its students’ understanding of the world and remind them that their voices matter.
