Lake Tahoe Prep Announces Summer School Program

Lake Tahoe Prep announces its Summer School Program, designed to help students stay academically engaged while prioritizing emotional and physical well-being during the summer months. Research and experience show that students thrive when they remain active, connected, and purpose-driven, and Lake Tahoe Prep intentionally builds these elements into every summer session. Students may attend summer school only, remain on campus for one of two summer sessions, or both, to recover credits or get ahead in their academic goals while maintaining healthy routines.

Each summer session includes two academic courses alongside daily outdoor activities that support balance, confidence, and overall wellness. Students who attend both summer sessions earn two full-year academic course credits in addition to a full-year Physical Education credit. Students attending one summer session earn two semester academic credits plus a semester of Physical Education credit. Time outdoors is not an add-on, but a core part of the program, reinforcing the connection between movement, mental health, and academic readiness.

Set against the natural beauty of Lake Tahoe, students participate in a wide range of outdoor activities, including hiking, mountain biking, fishing, stand-up paddleboarding, flat-water kayaking, rock climbing, and river rafting. These activities encourage resilience, teamwork, and self-confidence while helping students return to the school year refreshed, motivated, and prepared to succeed both academically and personally.
