Lake Tahoe Prep Welcomes David Burnham as Assistant Head of School

Lake Tahoe Prep is pleased to congratulate David Burnham on his appointment as Assistant Head of School. David holds a Master's degree in Psychology from the University of Arizona, where he specialized in child development and adolescent behavioral support. He brings a comprehensive background in youth programming, clinical practice, and residential treatment, with a strong focus on student well-being, leadership development, and creating supportive learning environments.

While completing his undergraduate degree at the University of Nevada, Reno, David earned All-Conference honors in rugby and gained early leadership experience managing logistics for adolescent camps. He later served for five years as Program Coordinator for youth and adult programming at his local recreation center, where he oversaw curriculum development, daily operations, and staff supervision. David also spent more than five years working within the hospital system, advancing into the role of Clinical Program Manager, where he supervised clinical teams and developed extensive experience in crisis response, treatment planning, and multidisciplinary care coordination.

Originally from Truckee, California, David is passionate about creating structured and positive environments that help young people thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Reflecting on his new role, David shared, "I am excited to step into the Assistant Head of School role and to continue supporting the growth and direction of our school. I'm grateful for the trust placed in me and energized by the opportunity to work closely with our students, families, and staff as we strengthen our systems, deepen our sense of community, and continue to put students at the center of everything we do."

Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and their dog, as well as skiing, mountain biking, and exploring the outdoors. Lake Tahoe Prep is a small, college-preparatory boarding school serving students in grades 9 through 12.
