Jennifer Taylor, President of JET ED Consulting, is proud to announce that both she and her colleague Missy Steffens are trained in the Dare to Lead program by Brené Brown. In a 3-day workshop facilitated by Lisa Pepper Satkin, Jennifer and Missy honed their leadership skills and reviewed their individual and corporate values. This commitment to one another enhances their dedication to serving the families in their educational consulting practice.
JET ED Consulting's corporate values are collaboration, compassion, excellence, growth, and integrity. Devoted to these values, Jennifer and Missy work to help families face the hard work of parenting a struggling teenager or young adult.
As the writer Joseph Campbell once penned, “The cave you fear to enter holds the treasure you seek.”
Brené Brown is a respected author and researcher on shame. Jennifer says, “Many of our families and parents call us with feelings of failure, comparison, humiliation, and hopelessness. As trained leaders in empathy and courageous action, we guide our clients towards trusting our process, asking good questions along the way and showing their own bravery in holding their loved one accountable for unhealthy choices.” There is no place for shame in an educational consulting practice. Both Jennifer and Missy were parents who needed to make the decision that their own children needed residential treatment. Missy believes, “We hold parents’ vulnerability and overwhelm with care and respect.”
Brené has written, "With skinned knees and bruised hearts…we craft love from heartbreak, compassion from shame, grace from disappointment (and) courage from failure.” JET Ed Consulting celebrates Jennifer and Missy's ongoing commitment to the practice.
