Life Focus Transitions (LiFT), the latest initiative from the founders of New Focus Academy, Dr. Brandon Park and John Webb, proudly announces the grand opening of its transitional apartments in the scenic Wasatch Valley. Tailored for neurodivergent young adults aged 17.5 to 26, LiFT introduces a groundbreaking approach to autism support designed to empower individuals toward a future of independence and personal achievement. LiFT has begun with current students who have graduated from New Focus Academy and sought transitional support, but as of April 15, LiFT is open to enrolling young adults from home or external referrals.
At the heart of LiFT’s mission are two pioneering components that stand out as its main differentiators: a robust vocational track and the unique opportunity for young adults to earn their high school diploma. These programs are meticulously crafted to meet the specific needs of neurodivergent individuals, providing not just education and job skills but a pathway towards fulfilling autonomous lives. LiFT embeds specialized therapeutic support into every aspect while integrating young adults into an autonomous life in a way that suits their individual needs. Residents benefit from the guidance of expert therapists adept in the nuanced needs of neurodiverse individuals. This therapeutic backing ensures that each participant receives the emotional and psychological support necessary for a smooth transition into adulthood.
Community integration is pivotal at LiFT, reinforcing the skills learned within a broader social context. The center’s strategic location offers residents access to various recreational and educational facilities, promoting engagement and generalization of skills in diverse settings. Whether engaging in outdoor adventures in the surrounding nature, nearby vocational and volunteer opportunities, enjoying downtime with peers, or pursuing classes at the local college campus, LiFT provides an enriching environment conducive to growth and learning.
