Middlebridge School Celebrates the Class of 2026 and the Expanding Future for Students with Learning Differences

Middlebridge School proudly celebrated the graduation of the Class of 2026 this May, honoring a group of students whose journeys reflect resilience, growth, and the power of individualized education.

Graduates from the Class of 2026 will continue their educational paths at an impressive range of colleges, universities, and specialized programs across the United States and abroad, including New York University, Northeastern University, Oberlin College, Clark University, Colorado School of Mines, University of Denver, and many more.

For Middlebridge School, these outcomes represent more than college acceptances. They are part of a broader effort to challenge outdated assumptions surrounding students with learning differences and to demonstrate what is possible when students are deeply known, supported, and empowered.

“At Middlebridge, we believe students with learning differences do not need to be ‘fixed’ before they can thrive,” said John J. Kaufman. “Our graduates leave understanding themselves as learners, advocates, leaders, and capable young adults. Their success in college and beyond continues to help destigmatize the idea that learning differences limit potential.”

Middlebridge School’s model combines individualized academics, executive function support, emotional intelligence curriculum, college and career preparation, and a strong sense of belonging. Rather than measuring success solely by admission to college, the school emphasizes preparing students to succeed once they arrive there.

This year’s graduating class reflected the diversity of pathways available to neurodiverse learners — from engineering and business programs to arts, sciences, athletics, postgraduate opportunities, and international study. As the Class of 2026 crossed the graduation stage beneath the towers of Hazard Castle in Narragansett, their accomplishments stood as a reminder that students who learn differently deserve not only access to higher education but every opportunity to flourish within it.
