New Program-Specific App for Summit Achievement Streamlines Processes and Communication

Summit Achievement is kicking off the new year with exciting new technology, aimed to streamline communication and information sharing. The team is proud to announce the launch of the Summit Achievement App. Developed over the last few months, the application will serve as a valuable tool for the Summit community, including past and current families, staff, and those wishing to learn more about Summit’s programs: Summit Achievement and Traverse.

The process of developing the Summit Achievement Application started back in the summer of 2023. Co-owners Nichol Ernst and Anson McNulty began working with Team Recovery, an app development firm based out of Salt Lake City. Together with Team Recovery, Ernst and McNulty started to work through the vision of the app, which is meant to streamline processes and operations at Summit Achievement and Traverse, helping to ensure continued quality customer service, clinical expertise, and academic excellence at the programs. The application was designed to be completely specific to the needs of Summit Achievement and Summit Traverse, including the unique academic program.

The app is also proof of the program evolution that is characteristic of Summit Achievement and Traverse over the years.

"Throughout our history, one of the things that has given Summit Achievement our staying power is our ability to adapt. This app is another example of how diligently this organization works to meet our staff, clients, and families where they are at, which is often on their devices,”  says Nichol Ernst.

Families and clients will benefit from the app starting with the admissions process. Applications, enrollment paperwork, contact information, packing lists, travel directions, and more can all be found in the app, making it an incredibly useful tool for prospective families, and helping to make the sometimes daunting process of enrolling in a therapeutic program a little easier. Once enrolled, the innovative parent curriculum all Summit parents complete will be more efficiently delivered via the application on whichever device is preferable.

The app will also become a tool for collecting outcome data from participants past and present. Staff at Summit can use the app to access important information as well, from onboarding to training documents to timesheets and messaging. Alumni clients will also be able to utilize the application for important information, resources post-graduation, and communication. The app features push notifications for communicating effectively with users as well as a messaging function.

It is important to note that the Summit Achievement App and all relevant data and information are secure and protected on multiple levels. Anyone wishing to use the application must sign up under a category of use and be granted access to those secure documents and information. Everyone wishing to have a log-in granting them access to the different user portals and features must first be approved by the Summit administration.

The first version of the Summit App is currently available for download in the Apple or Google App stores. The team looks forward to launching it to the community and witnessing further innovations and evolutions.

About Summit Achievement

Summit Achievement is a unique therapeutic program guided by choice and positive reinforcement. Our outcome-focused program is both a licensed Residential Treatment Center and an accredited boarding school. Our hybrid model allows students to experience the therapeutic benefits of outdoor adventure-based activities while also learning to manage the demands of a more traditional academic environment. We also offer a short-term therapeutic boarding school, Summit Traverse, for students transitioning from residential treatment back home or to a traditional environment. An intentionally small, owner-operated, all-gender program, we work with students ages 13-20, from around the world. We are located in Stow, Maine.
