Red Mountain Sedona announces the launch of its new Life-Skills Development Group. Though essential skill work has been built into Red Mountain’s transitional structure for many years, this group initiative is designed to equip young adults with crucial life skills in a collaborative and pro-social setting.
Recognizing the value of inclusivity, Red Mountain Sedona incorporated feedback from its student community in the planning stage. This collaborative approach ensured the program resonates with the needs and aspirations of its participants, enhancing its effectiveness.
The group, managed by experienced case managers, covers a comprehensive range of essential life skills, fostering independence, confidence, and a smoother transition into adulthood. Especially effective for those needing support in executive functioning, participants are learning:
- Professional Etiquette: Learning expectations in workplace behavior, interview preparation, and job search strategies to secure meaningful employment.
- Healthy Living: Cooking balanced meals, keeping a clean home, practicing good self-care and hygiene.
- Financial Wellness: Integrating lessons in financial literacy such as budgeting and saving.
- Balanced Life: Practicing task prioritization, developing pro-social skills, and personal regulation.
