Bethanie Stevenson, Red Mountain Sedona Clinical Director, has stepped down after years of service to spend more time with her family. Fortunately, she will continue with the team as a therapist, bringing her expertise as a family and trauma therapist to the next generation of Red Mountain students. The team is happy that she remains on board and is happy that she is prioritizing family.
The team is also excited to enhance the Red Mountain team with more expertise, with the hiring of Mark White, MA, as Clinical Director. Mark (no relation to Josh and Maureen White) brings nearly three decades of professional experience working with youth and families, most recently at Pacific Quest, to his role as Clinical Director. Mark deeply believes in the holistic care and mindfulness model that Red Mountain Sedona provides young adults and families. He practices as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and Master Addictions Counselor (MAC).
Mark also holds a Master’s degree in counseling and has a breadth of professional experience as a teacher, school counselor, and head of school. Mark holds a deep sense of learning styles, learning differences, and academic engagement strategies to skillfully help young adults effectively utilize their learning preferences to advance their personal growth.
Mark is dedicated to supporting youth in their recovery from behavioral health issues, including anxiety, depression, isolation, and problems related to addiction (including technology attachment). Mark utilizes a variety of therapeutic approaches, including a solution-focused framework, Jungian depth psychology, rites of passage, Horticultural Therapy (HT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Mark is a Level II trained practitioner of Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing.
Mark’s extensive background and wonderful personality further enhance the clinical expertise at Red Mountain Sedona, and the team is excited to welcome him aboard.
