Red Mountain Sedona is pleased to welcome Allison Anker, BA, as its new Academic Advisor. Allison brings more than 14 years of experience in education, with expertise in academic advising, tutoring, executive functioning, goal setting, behavioral coaching, and accountability. She has worked in both general and special education settings, supporting students with diverse academic needs, learning differences, and behavioral challenges. Allison earned her Bachelor of Science in Education from Central Michigan University and has called Arizona home since 2012.
Academic support is an important part of the Red Mountain Sedona program, helping young adults find success in their education while working toward their therapeutic goals. Whether completing high school, preparing for college, or taking college courses, students receive individualized support with coursework, tutoring, project planning, time management, study skills, and assignment planning. Students can also enroll in courses and earn college credits through Yavapai College, with support in developing the organizational and executive functioning skills needed for academic success.
In her role, Allison will work alongside the Executive Functioning Coach and case management team to provide students with dedicated guidance throughout their educational journey. Her approach combines practical academic strategies with personalized coaching to help students build confidence, independence, and effective habits for long-term success.
Outside of education, Allison is a certified yoga teacher and enjoys exploring Arizona’s outdoors, listening to live music, participating in community events, and spending time with her French Bulldog, Gordo.
