In today's world, the mental health of college-aged students is a growing concern. Many face significant challenges, yet seeking help can feel at odds with academic pursuits. But what if therapeutic care and academic advancement could go hand in hand? Pure Life Adventure and New England College are striving to overcome that barrier by offering college credit for mental health skill development.
New England College (NEC) and Pure Life Adventure (PLA) have formed a unique partnership. This collaboration allows students in therapeutic programs to earn transferable college credit for work that aligns with college-level learning outcomes. During a 90-day experience at Pure Life, a client can earn up to 16 transferable credits at New England College.
This innovative approach offers numerous benefits. For students, it provides academic continuity, allowing them to focus on their well-being without sacrificing their education. It also fosters holistic growth by integrating therapy and academics. It demonstrates a commitment to student mental health for colleges and showcases an innovative learning model. It also supports the development of essential life skills.
The partnership between New England College and Pure Life Adventure represents a significant step towards a more integrated and supportive approach to young adult mental health. Combining therapeutic care with academic credit paves the way for students to thrive personally and academically. Allan Capp, Executive Director of Pure Life Adventure, and Raelyn Viti, Professor of Outdoor Education at New England College, will present on this unique partnership at the IECA Conference in Detroit, MI, on May 7th. If you are attending IECA, please check out this unique session.
