Solstice RTC supports teen girls, nonbinary teens, and transgender youth assigned female at birth who struggle with challenges related to past traumas, loss, and attachment issues. This month, Solstice hosted a family seminar aimed at enriching family dynamics and personal growth. Families and students engaged in valuable learning experiences designed to dismantle ingrained relationship patterns and foster healthier interactions — especially helpful for parents of teens facing attachment issues.
This seminar offered valuable support by focusing on key areas: dismantling negative relationship patterns, fostering mindful communication, setting healthy boundaries, enhancing body awareness and emotional regulation, and transforming communication styles. Parents learned effective strategies to strengthen their connections with their teens, promote cooperation, and build trust, ultimately fostering healthier family dynamics.
The seminar explored a few vital topics, including:
- Dismantling Ingrained Relationship Patterns: Families learned how to challenge roles within the drama triangle, empowering them to navigate complex family dynamics with confidence. This helps parents navigate attachment issues that can manifest in adolescents, such as relationship problems, lack of trust, defiant behavior, and difficulty with emotional regulation.
- Conscious Interaction: Attendees discovered techniques to promote conscious and mindful communication, enhancing their relationships while addressing the emotional and behavioral symptoms in teens that often arise from attachment disorders.
- Managing Parent-Child Boundaries: Strategies were shared to establish healthy boundaries while encouraging cooperation without resistance, which is crucial for addressing the causes of attachment disorders in adolescents.
