Live Strong House is strengthening its commitment to growth by expanding its focus on helping teenage and young adult boys develop independence through practical, real-world experiences. This approach emphasizes gradual, earned responsibility—ensuring students build the skills and maturity needed to successfully transition back home and into everyday life.
As students reach the appropriate stage in the program, they earn the opportunity to use simplified communication devices from Gabb Wireless. These phones, designed for calling and texting without the distractions of social media or internet access, serve as a meaningful step toward independence. With guidance and accountability, students learn to communicate appropriately with peers and family members while developing healthy, responsible technology habits.
As students continue progressing through the program, they also earn the opportunity to work toward obtaining their driver’s license. Driver’s education courses can be completed within Live Strong House townhomes, where students participate in structured learning before transitioning to hands-on practice. Staff members actively support this process by coordinating driving practice to help students build confidence behind the wheel and guiding them through the steps required to earn their Utah driver’s license. Students can get the full number of driving hours they need to complete the driver's ed program. In parallel, students are encouraged to seek employment opportunities, where they learn to manage schedules, develop workplace skills, and take on real responsibility.
Together, these milestones play a critical role in building confidence, accountability, and independence. Managing a job, maintaining a schedule, and navigating transportation empower students to take ownership of their daily lives. Through this structured and supportive approach, Live Strong House provides a clear pathway for teenage boys and young adult boys to develop essential life skills and prepare for long-term success.
