Solstice West is thrilled to announce its upcoming parent-student adventure trip to Moab this spring. Scheduled for March 18-21, this event represents a unique opportunity for parents and their children to reconnect, rebuild their relationships, and share in the unique joys and challenges of outdoor activities with the support of Clinical Director TJ Rowden, PhD. and Recreational Therapist Caitlyn Belcher, TRS, CTRS.
In collaboration with Aspect Adventure, Solstice has planned a camp out filled with exhilarating guided activities, including rappelling, hiking, and climbing. More than just outdoor adventures, this trip is designed to foster meaningful interactions and growth through shared experiences. The serene beauty and natural environment of Moab will serve as the perfect backdrop for reducing stress, encouraging mindfulness, and reflecting on concepts students and families are learning in therapy.
"Camping with parents and their children offers a combination of fun and intentional space that's been profoundly impactful in the past," said Caitlyn, Recreational Therapist at Solstice West. "We believe that the activities and the downtime on this trip will strengthen familial relationships and provide powerful lessons in personal development."
Aspect Adventure provides all logistics and amenities for a comfortable basecamp experience. Accommodations include large canvas tents with cots and sleeping bags, a professional-grade kitchen, bathroom and hygiene facilities, and solar power for charging electronic devices. The upcoming trip's itinerary is packed with guided activities such as rappelling, rock climbing, hiking, and more, all facilitated by Clinical Director TJ Rowden, Recreational Therapist Caitlyn Belcher, and the skilled staff at Aspect Adventure.
Solstice West and Aspect Adventure have partnered for the past seven years, creating memorable and therapeutic outdoor experiences for families. Caitlyn shared, "We have done trips with Aspect Adventure for the past seven years and hope to schedule more upcoming parent-child trips in the future! We’re currently working with them to solidify another date for this camping season."
