Located in Wilmington, NC, The Cove is run by women with a woman-centered approach. The program is designed to provide comprehensive support for women seeking recovery from various challenges, including mental health, trauma, and substance abuse disorders.
At The Cove, we understand the intricate needs of each individual on their journey towards healing and empowerment.
The Cove's programs are structured into four phases:
Phase 1: Dock (Primary Mental Health and Addiction Treatment)
Phase 2: Anchor (Extended Care)
Phase 3: Harbor (Transitional Living)
Phase 4: Compass (Change Management)
Each phase is carefully crafted to address different aspects of recovery, ensuring a holistic approach to healing and growth.
One of the cornerstones of its approach is trauma treatment through an attachment lens. The Cove recognizes the profound impact of trauma on individuals and prioritizes therapies that foster healing through secure attachments and supportive relationships. Its licensed clinicians utilize many modalities, including EMDR, Brainspotting, and Somatic Experiencing.
In addition to traditional therapy modalities, its programs incorporate adventure programming on the water. These experiential activities provide opportunities for personal growth, team building, and overcoming challenges in a supportive environment.
The Cove also emphasizes the importance of 12-step involvement as a foundational element of recovery. Its program offers guidance and support for individuals navigating the principles of the 12 steps, empowering them to develop a strong foundation for long-term sobriety. With over 400 weekly meetings in Wilmington, girls at The Cove are introduced to AA, NA, and other fellowships such as SLAA, CODA, Dharma Recovery, and SMART Recovery.
Furthermore, 1-1 case management services are tailored to meet the diverse needs of our clients. From vocational and educational support to nutritional guidance and financial planning, dedicated case managers work closely with individuals to address their specific goals and aspirations.
