Uinta Academy Redefines Highschool Education For Young Adults

Uinta Academy’s young adult programming stands out in the comprehensive high school academic program, designed specifically for young adults who have not yet completed their high school education. This unique initiative differentiates Uinta Academy from other residential treatment centers (RTCs) for adults who often focus on GEDs rather than complete high school education tracks. This academic service allows school districts to cover tuition costs until students graduate or reach the age of 22, ensuring they have access to the educational resources they need.

“Our daughter, who was not planning to graduate high school before Uinta, graduated not only the Uinta treatment program but also high school with a 3.6+ GPA and applied to and was accepted by 7 colleges, all with merit-based scholarships awarded. Thanks to Uinta Academy, we got our daughter back, and our daughter took her future back.”
— Jemma Sullivan, Parent Review

Uinta Academy's fully supported full-time high school program features a diverse curriculum delivered by licensed content area teachers who are NPS certified in California, Washington, and Utah. Uinta’s academic program is accredited by Cognia and SEVIS-certified, allowing exchange students to receive therapeutic services and academic support. The Special Education teacher at Uinta provides dedicated support to students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to ensure their needs are met. The mission of Uinta Academy's education program is clear: to support each student's therapeutic goals while enhancing their academic skills, building self-confidence through achievement, and creating pathways for future success.

Uinta is committed to individualized instruction, offering multiple pathways tailored to meet varying student needs—intensive, general, and modified. With small classroom sizes and a strong emphasis on 1:1 assistance, teaching staff ensure that each student receives the support required to thrive academically. A hybrid online and paper-based model promotes competency-based learning, enabling students to take charge of their educational journey while integrating essential study and executive functioning skills.
