Operating costs for wilderness therapy programs will go up this year. Executive Order 13658 requires any wilderness therapy program holding permits for BLM, Forest Service, or other federal land is required to pay staff a minimum wage of $10.15 per hour, a rate higher than many states current minimum wage. The Executive Order effects operating costs at all wilderness therapy programs.
RedCliff Ascent is now helping families navigate the world of insurance reimbursement. RedCliff Ascent believes in paying a living wage and also believes in helping families and their children too. In 2016, of the seventy-one families that have started this process, twenty-one families have worked through the requirements. Fifteen families have collected an average of just over $16,000. This is more than one full month of tuition. Insurance reimbursement is not a guarantee, but it worth investigation.
