The staff at Summit Prep, as a whole, is a remarkable group of people. It is a group that works together to support and guide the student community. The clinicians, teachers, and residential counselors engage with the students throughout the day and into the evening. As the day comes to a close the Night Residential Counselors are arriving on campus. This is a unique role and most of the work is behind the scenes. But this group of dedicated workers must respond at a moment's notice to a variety of situations. Many nights are routine, the students prepare to go to bed, they sleep, and get up the next morning and head to classes. Other nights however may be quite demanding, a student getting sick in the night, an emergency phone call from a parent or unexpected weather. It is at these times that the night staff decisions are crucial.
Recently Summit Prep had the opportunity to honor one of our night staff. Lynn Rose was nominated for and received the Excellence in Service Award for the Rocky Mountain Regional NATSAP (National Association fo Therapeutic Schools and Programs) Conference. This award honors the dedicated frontline staff of NATSAP programs.
Here is what Liann Ainsworth, Director of Operations, said about Lynn:
“Sometimes you have the good fortune to have an employee who shows up for work on time, rarely misses a day, is a team player, and not only does their job well but looks for ways things to be better and work better for the students and the school as a whole. Lynn Rose is that employee. Students appreciate her support when they're having a bad day, her consistency with the rules and her willingness to teach them new things. Her co-workers appreciate her great communication skills and readiness to always lend a hand. And her supervisor appreciates her hard work, dedication to the students, strong boundaries and conscientiousness. It is for these reasons that Summit Prep nominates Lynn Rose for the Excellence in Service Award.”
