All Kinds of News for March 08, 2017
Sunrise RTC is thrilled to be inviting furry four pawed animals on to our campus for pet therapy. This will be in addition to our other experiential therapies including equine therapy, play therapy, art therapy, sand tray and recreational therapy.
The clients who attend Sunrise RTC have a love for animals. The staff and management who own pets, enjoy this feature of the treatment center. There is a growing body of scientific research showing that pets can also make us healthy, or healthier, with providers reporting they get greater engagement, greater alertness, more language, more processing from their clients.
The clients have happily welcomed these new four legged friends into their lives. Sunrise RTC is looking forward to the health and happiness that they will assist in the client’s treatment. "One of the things that's always been known is that the animals help a clinician go under the radar of a child's consciousness, because the child is much more at ease and seems to be much more willing to reveal” says Aubrey Fine, Clinical Psychologist based out of Claremont, CA who specializes in treatment with canines. http://www.aubreyhfine.com/
