Living Well Transitions, the independent living program for emerging young adults, is pleased to report on the successful completion of the Group Redesign Project. The team at Living Well spent several months in 2016 examining every layer of the clients’ clinical experience to extract the most crucial and transformative aspects of the group-program offering. What resulted was a reimagining of the client schedule that strikes the perfect balance between structured, therapeutic support and developmentally appropriate freedom.
Core therapeutic groups based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Mindfulness, provide the essential clinical foundation, which is balanced with social and community groups that support clients as they practice what they are learning in real-life settings. In between these two high-impact program components, added space has been created for clients to build community, meet individually with the members of their treatment team, attend classes or work in their part-time jobs.
In addition to the Group Redesign Project, Living Well Transitions also introduced a new tiered fee schedule that pairs program pricing with the level of services clients receive. As clients step into increased independence and schedule choice, the fees for services decrease, making the experience more sustainable for parents and financial sponsors.
