Dragonfly Transitions is seeking qualified mentors to support young adults in their therapeutic and personal journey towards independence. Dragonfly's residential program emphasizes independent living, individual, group and family therapy, substance abuse and mental health counseling, and experiential learning. The Mentor role serves to provide supervision, education through experience, and leadership to program participants.
Mentors meet individually with primary students to establish rapport and provide individual support. They work with therapists and the Clinical Director to provide the day-to-day treatment continuity. This includes participating and directing daily program components including therapeutic and recreational groups, supervising daily living tasks, assisting with treatment activities, administering medication, and facilitating adventure and community service based trips.
Dragonfly encourages Mentors to bring their individual and creative passions to the position. Mentors teach at least one group in an area of their interest (nutrition, leisure skills, budgeting, etc.) per term. Physical aspects of program that Mentors facilitate can include: hiking, backpacking, cooking, etc., while on overnight trips and/or weekend activities. Mentors are also responsible for ensuring the safety of the students at all times.
Dragonfly Transitions is currently hiring for two campuses: the Klamath Falls town-based campus, and the Homestead campus which includes farm work and facilitating student groups in a greenhouse or with farm animals. Applicants interested in a Mentor position for either in town or at the Homestead are encouraged to apply by sending a resume and cover letter to Program Director Kenny Benson at Kenny@dragonflytransitions.com.
