Ascend Healthcare, a dual-diagnosis residential treatment center for adolescents, has been accredited by the Joint Commission. Joint Commission standards are the basis of an objective evaluation process that helps health care organizations measure, assess, and improve performance. The standards focus on important resident care and organizational functions that are essential to providing safe, high-quality care. The Joint Commission’s state-of-the-art standards set expectations for organization performance that are reasonable, achievable and surveyable.
“We are exceedingly proud to bear the literal gold standard of treatment accreditation. Joint Commission accreditation is no small undertaking, as everyone knows. It was one of the first industry hurdles we set out to achieve, and to have it coincide with our first anniversary of operation is the perfect icing for our birthday cake. I am exceptionally proud of our clinicians and our staff for providing the highest quality of care possible to both our clients and their families,” said Managing Director Effie Goldberg.
Joint Commission certification serves to improve the quality of patient care by reducing variation in clinical processes. It provides a framework for program structure and management as well as providing an objective assessment of clinical excellence. It is dedicated to creating, recognizing and unifying top-notch clinical teams while promoting a culture of excellence across certified organizations. It is also instrumental in facilitating contracting and reimbursement with a majority of medical insurance providers. Most of all, it strengthens community confidence in the quality and safety of care, treatment, and services for accredited organizations.
"I’m glad to see that the Joint Commission recognizes what I’ve seen in the level of care provided by the staff here at Ascend: a high-quality and cohesive clinical and technical team providing life-saving treatment to teens with the highest level of need," said Jess Beck, Clinical Director.
