All Kinds of News for May 09, 2018
Last week, Elements Wilderness Program celebrated its 10 year anniversary with friends and family at the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA) Conference in Austin, Texas. The nearly 300 in attendance helped Elements celebrate in authentic Country Western style with a live band and dance instruction.
“We are extremely grateful to all the friends, Educational Consultants, and of course to our families for all the support they have given us over this past decade”, said John Karren, Admissions Director and Co-Owner. “Without such an outstanding community, we would not be where we are today.” Karren went on to speak of all the amazing and caring individuals who make Elements Wilderness Program what it is, saying, “The staff we have seen come through this program, from direct care to our therapists and my own partners, have all made us better in their own way. Furthermore, I couldn’t even begin to thank all the families who have placed their trust in us. They all hold a special place in our hearts.”
Elements Wilderness Program operates in central Utah’s beautiful canyon country of the San Rafael Swell as well as the high alpine area of the Wasatch Plateau. Elements started in 2008 and has remained true to its roots of being a small and specialized, owner-operated company, with its five partners serving as Admissions Director, Clinical Director, Director of Family Services, Program Director, and CEO. As a Wilderness Therapy Program, Elements seeks to provide intervention, treatment, and assessment through experiential learning activities, various therapeutic modalities, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy skills development, and the Seven Challenges program for substance abuse treatment. The diverse topography of Elements’ field allows for a multitude of adventure activities that groups can experience right within their hiking itinerary. Elements Wilderness program is third-party accredited by the OBH Council through the Association for Experiential Education.
