All Kinds of News for April 09, 2019
Lauren Roberts, MS, LPC, has returned to the field this March at Evoke Cascades. After a 3-month maternity leave, Lauren and her husband Sean welcomed their 2nd child, Sedona, a beautiful little baby girl. Lauren is now back and running a co-ed young adult group. Over her ten years of working in wilderness therapy, Lauren has enjoyed working with a variety of clients. She specializes in treating trauma, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem and learning differences.
Lauren’s style is highly relational and insight-oriented. She believes deeply in attachment theory and the need to create a safe place for clients to fully explore who they are, without feeling fear of being judged. She works hard to show up as her authentic self with the invitation for her clients to do the same. She believes that by meeting clients with unconditional positive regard they are able to better explore their fears, insecurities and trauma and form corrective emotional experiences through a safe and secure relationship.
She is EMDR certified and uses trauma-informed techniques blended with CBT, DBT and a focus on mindfulness. She believes in the power of deconstructing limiting beliefs, pointing out when intentions and actions do not match and helping clients develop new positive neuropathway connections. Lastly, she believes working with the whole family system is a crucial part of invoking lasting change.
