Get to Know Hannah Eckert and Aspiro's Vantage Point Program

Category: Personnel Changes

Meet Aspiro’s Vantage Point therapist, Hannah Eckert. After Hannah graduated college, she discovered Aspiro. She was excited to work at an organization that combines her passion for psychology and outdoor adventure. While working as a field guide, she quickly saw students thriving in the Aspiro program and decided to further her education and become a therapist, obtaining a Master of Social Work at the University of Utah.

Today, Hannah works with students identifying as female who tend to have high anxiety, executive functioning deficits, depression, difficulty connecting socially, and possible neurodevelopmental or learning differences. Hannah utilizes a caring approach paired with effective modeling and firm boundaries. Her approach builds trust with her students, thus enabling them to take feedback from her more readily as she guides them through social pragmatics coaching, emotional regulation techniques, executive functioning skill-building, and more.

Her approach accentuates the primary focus areas of the Vantage Point program that includes social pragmatics and developing reciprocal relationships. Vantage Point students have various shared experiences through adventure activities such as rock climbing, backpacking, mountain biking, and more. Students also increase their inner strength and self-efficacy as they realize they can overcome challenges. Clinical goals are individually created to get students out of their comfort zones. Students engage in life again as they are reintroduced to the world, encouraged to do challenging things, and are provided with multiple opportunities for success. Together with the Vantage Point team, Hannah helps students realize that they can be successful, connect with others, be accepted, and do hard things. Visit Aspiro’s website to learn more about Hannah Eckert and the Vantage Point program.
